A computer center for the homeowner

It is 8 p.m. in the Pearsons' house somewhere in the United States, July 10, 1989. All television sets are on. Mrs. Pearson has selected Category 8 of the information retrieval system, Local Government Services, and is reviewing the schedule of public meetings that will be held during the week. Noticing that the City Council meets tomorrow, she retrieves the minutes of the previous meeting. She could view a video recording if she wished, but she decides to scan through the written minutes and cast her vote now. Later, she has some messages to send.
