Cameras that `think'

Behind the lens of any recently made consumer camera is electronic automation. To a great extent, smaller and cheaper electronic components have made possible smaller cameras that do more with less human intervention. Today's amateur photographer, even one with little knowledge of f-stops and shutter speeds, can afford a sophisticated camera and take pictures in situations that until recently demanded professional equipment.
