Effect of Composition and Structure on the Properties of Ti Containing Nd-Fe-B Rapidly Quenched Alloys

The effect of neodymium and boron content was studied for the Nd

Ti

(x=0, 1, 2; y=0, 1, 2; z=0, 4) system. The alloys were prepared by melt-spinning and suction casting. The highest magnetic properties (

=648 kA/m, J

) were achieved for the melt-spun Nd
₈
Fe
₇₄
B
₁₄
Ti
₄
alloy. This was caused by Ti addition and was related to the convenient combination of the phase constitution and fine crystallite size in the range of 15-30 nm.
