The Flow Simulation of Fouled Axial Compressor Based on Reverse Design

axial compressor is extensively used in modern gas turbine power stations. Because the effect of external contaminants and internal contaminants, particles entered in compressor are deposited in blade surface to change the blade geometry, thus thermal performance of compressor is influenced. Traditional flow simulation method defines the blade as rough wall with constant roughness. But experiment demonstrated that fouling level is uniform in blade surface, so this method is unable to reveal the nature of fouling. Thus, sensitive parameter of fouling phenomenon must be replaced. New method decides blade profile parameter as sensitive parameter of fouling. This method combines reverse design with traditional flow simulation method to successfully reveal the essence of fouling.
