Experimental Research on Fluidization Characteristics of Desulfurization By-Product and Feasibility Analysis of Sulfur Recovery

A cold model test setup was built about by-product using magnesium oxide wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD). The gas-solid flow characteristics of by-product were analyzed. Outside surface structure features of its particle were analyzed by scanning electronic microscope (SEM) micrograph among by-products of desulfurization. The magnesium sulfite trihydrate and magnesium sulfite hexahydrate of environmental protection agency (EPA) were compared. The results shown viscous force of particle is not strength. Obtaining SO
₂
by fluidized-bed calcinating is feasible. The crystal structure of FGD by-product was rougher, less porous, irregular appearance and smooth surface.
