Roll-to-roll fabrication of thin foil-based optical waveguides with grating couplers

We report the fabrication of low-loss thin-film foil-based polymer waveguides with grating couplers employing an industrial roll-to-roll process. These waveguides are promising candidates for applications in short distance data communication as well as in sensing applications.
