Two-disk dynamo system and analysis of its basic non-linear dynamics characteristic

In order to simulate and explain the reversals of the geomagnetic field, this paper set up the relationship between the Rikitake two-disk dynamo system's currents and the angular velocity of disk. Through calculating the Lyapunov exponents and fractal dimension of its chaotic attractor, discussing the system's chaotic bifurcation behavior and the state diversification of its periodical windows, as well as its chaotic movement patterns, it is explained that the Rikitake two-disk dynamo system has rich chaos phenomenon. After simulating, it obtained the system's chaos attractors. Moreover, it analyzed the system's basic dynamics behavior such as symmetry, power spectrum, equilibrium pots, stability, and so on. These chaotic behaviors can be just used to simulate the reversals of the geomagnetic field. Furthermore, it is no doubt that the researching results will have important theory significance and practical value in controlling mechanical and electrical aspects.
