In order to consider the issue of the Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR) it is appropriate to pose a series of questions to provide context and a framework to the discussion: What was the nature of experience with DCRDRs? What was the general approach taken to perform the work? What were the findings from the work? What resulted from the findings? Was the DCRDR a useful tool? What were the positive factors? What were the negative factors? The author answers these questions with particular reference to CANDU.
