Integrated Ecological-Hydrodynamic Model for the Jiangdong Reservoir in Jiulong River

The safety of the Jiangdong reservoir at Jiulong River, as the main source of local drinking water, is crucial to the residents in Xiamen city. In order to simulate and predict the water quality of the Reservoir, an integrated model system was developed based on GIS and RS technology, which was composed of non-point source (NPS) simulation model, hydrodynamic model, and river water quality model. Besides, a serious of years of monitoring data was collected for the model parameter identification. In the parameter identification phase, the MSEs (Mean Squared Error) of the hydrological model were less than 0.3, the MSEs of the water quality model, including the MSEs of the DO (Dissolved Oxygen), NH (ammonia), TP (Total Phosphorus) and CHLa (Chlorophyll a) indicators, were less than 0.7. In conclusion, the results showed that the integrated ecological-hydrodynamic model was build up and could be further validated.
