Conductivity and transference number of poly(ethylene oxide)/poly(vinylidene fluoride) blend plasticized polymer electrolytes

The purpose of this study is to research and develop solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) for lithium polymer battery. We investigated conductivity, electrochemical properties and impedance spectroscopy of poly(ethylene oxide)[PEO]/poly(vinylidene fluoride) [PVDF] blend electrolytes and charge/discharge cycling of LiCoO/sub 2//SPE/Li cell. By adding PVDF and plasticizer to PEO-LiClO/sub 4/ electrolyte, its conductivity was higher than that of PEO-LiClO/sub 4/ electrolyte. Also PEO/sub 4/PVDF/sub 4/LiClO/sub 4/PC/sub 5/ ECD remains stable up to 4.4 V vs Li/Li/sup +/. The discharge capacity of the LiCoO/sub 2/ composite cathode was 92 mAh/g based on LiCoO/sub 2/.
