Diode laser frequency stabilization on Cs-D1 resonance line by the Zeeman Effect

High sensitivity Cs atomic magnetometer needs to stabilize the pumping diode laser to the Cs-D1 resonant frequency exactly without any modulation. The frequency-locking scheme is able to produce a discrimination signal with non-modulation by the Zeeman Effect. We complete locking a diode laser on the Cs-D1 resonant frequency by this method, because it has larger locking range than the saturated absorption spectrum. Analyzed the dependence of the slope of the discriminating zero-crossing point on magnetic field experimentally and theoretically, it is showed that 130G is the optimum magnetic field to the Fg=4→Fe=3 component of the Cs-D1 transition at room temperature.
