Research and simulation design on ultrathin tri-band RF antenna

This paper presents a compact triple and wide band RF antenna with ultra-thin size based on PIFA structure, which covers the GSM/DCS/RFID/TD-SCDMA/WLAN services at the same time. The proposed RF antenna occupies a total volume of only 32×25×3.4mm

. A novel inverted “Z” shape slot structure is used for the first time in antenna design, it is proved to be more suitable for overall network matching of the RF antenna by simulated. This RF antenna is also used a new type folding patch structure and a novel uniquely modified ground plane technique. The two new type structures make the antenna smaller as well as keep better impedance matching performance. The simulated results show that all the performances of the antenna are satisfied the requirements in future wireless communication.
