Understanding discrete linear mode coupling in few-mode fiber transmission systems

We present a preliminary investigation of system performance in the context of few-mode fiber propagation, focusing on the impact of discrete mode coupling, while varying key parameters, such as the differential mode group delay (DMGD), and employing (or not) source separation by MIMO signal processing.
