Nonlinear control of an aircraft in the presence of microburst windshear

This paper presents a climb-rate guidance scheme for aircraft flight through a microburst windshear on final approach. The control law will be developed using a new method derived from stable manifold theory to solve a Hamilton-Jacobi equation approximately. Simulation results demonstrate that the aircraft can safely transit severe microburst windshear by obtained nonlinear optimal control law.
