Cellular communication mobility model for a finite multiclass population of users

With the purpose of modeling a cellular communication environment, we consider a finite number of mobiles moving in a geographical region, covered by a finite set of cells. Each user belongs to a specific class characterized by specific attributes. These attributes are the phone call rate, the call duration time, the cell transition probability pattern and the cell transition rate. This allows to consider several kind of users in several real mobility situations such as pedestrian, car or jet aircraft. In the proposed example we consider only two classes, business and family. Users cannot change class, so these two classes are chains, too. The chains allow to consider two different quality of service (QoS) cases in accordance with a different taxation. Performance predictions of the model are confirmed by simulation, especially in the range of moderate load conditions.
