The Benefits and Limitations of Pairwise Understanding of IT Business Value

Empirical studies examining the business value of information technology have predominantly used pairwise associations between IT and other organizational factors. This paper discusses the main benefits and limitations of this pairwise approach. Based on this understanding, future research in the research domain is discussed.
