Accumulation and translocation of heavy metals in Aegiceras corniculatum in Luoyang River Estuary wetland, Quanzhou Bay

The contents of heavy metals in Aegiceras corniculatum and the acid-leachable contents of heavy metals in the rhizosphere sediments in Luoyang River estuary of Quanzhou Bay were determined, and the concentration and transfer capacity of heavy metals in the different tissues of Aegiceras corniculatum was discussed. The average acid-leachable contents of heavy metals in the rhizosphere sediments showed a sequence of Fe> Mn> Zn> Pb> Cu> V> Cr> Ni> Co> Sn> Cd> As> Sb. With the exception of Sb and As, the contents of heavy metals accumulated in the tissues of Aegiceras corniculatum were lower than the acid-leachable contents of heavy metals in the rhizosphere sediments. Pb, Cr, Mn, Zn, V, Sb and Sn were accumulated mainly in leaf, and Fe, Co and Ni were mainly stored in root, while Cu and As were concentrated in branch. The translocation factors (TFs) of heavy metals from root to leaf were almost more than 1 except for Fe, V and Co.
