The finite element analysis of a three-story light wood-framed building

The model and nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis of a three-story light wood frame building have completed with finite element analysis software-ABAQUS in this paper. In the model of the whole structure, shear wall was reduced to equivalent truss model which consisted of rigid beam element and nonlinear spring element U2. Floor and roof diaphragms were assumed to be rigid. The results show that model established with this method was reasonable, and has certain accuracy. According to the results of time -history analysis of frequently, basically and rarely earthquake of fortification intensity 8 and referring to relevant provisions of code for seismic design of buildings, this paper gave the advisable values of elastic and elasto-plastic story drift rotation of light wood-framed house.
