Supercomputers predict a stormy hurricane season

New simulations will show not just how many storms will strike, but where - The clouds spat out an intermittent drizzle of rain–the kind of halfhearted shower that no one could have predicted–as Jane Lubchenco, administrator of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, stood outside NOAA's Satellite Operations Facility and revealed her organization's predictions for the 2011 North American hurricane season.
