Minimally intrusive identification of traffic-bearing optical fibers

An ongoing problem in any network finds craft personnel opening incorrect optical circuits for diagnosis. We demonstrate an instrument that non-intrusively induces a time-varying loss on optical fibers, thereby uniquely identifying specific circuits.
