A new implantable tomography approach to bladder volume monitoring

This paper describes a new implantable bladder volume monitoring device based on the tomography approach. The system is completely autonomous and forms a mixed-signal (analog/digital) feedback loop to command the bladder functions (incontinence and retention) through neuromuscular stimulation techniques. A programmable preamplifier and a model for bladder impedance have been designed and tested.
