Dual-polarized dielectric resonator antennas for base station applications

This paper presents two dual-polarized dielectric resonator antenna concepts proposed for base station applications. The TE
₀₁
and TM
₀₁
modes generate monopole-like radiation patterns suitable for a ceiling mounted access point while the HE
₁₁
mode radiates at broadside, which is applicable for sector coverage. Measurements of scattering parameters, radiation patterns and efficiencies of both concepts are presented.
