Seismic response analysis and control of long-span space truss structures under multiple-support excitation

The seismic responses of two large-span space structures under multiple-support excitation and simple-support excitation were respectively analyzed, and the structural responses, which include the internal force, displacement, acceleration and so on, were contrastively studied under the two forms of earthquake loads. The results show that multiple-support excitation on long-span space truss structures has some adverse effects, so it should be considered more in design process. Then some SMA-composite rubber bearings were installed at the weak parts of the long-span space truss structures, the motion equation and the dynamic response of such structures were discussed after using SMA-composite rubber bearings. At the same time, the seismic response changes of the structure before and after the installation of intelligent dampers were comparatively analyzed under multiple-support excitation, the results reveal that the seismic responses of the majority elements reduced significantly after installing the intelligent dampers, which reached the effect of seismic energy dissipation. The conclusions prove that it is effective and applicable of the seismic response control of long-span space truss structures using SMA-composite rubber bearings.
