Hybrid 107-Gb/s Polarization-Multiplexed DQPSK and 42.7-Gb/s DQPSK Transmission at 1.4-bits/s/Hz Spectral Efficiency over 1280 km of SSMF and 4

We demonstrate the first hybrid DWDM transmission of 107-Gb/s and 42.7-Gb/s channels with 1.4-bits/s/Hz spectral efficiency. 16 polarization-multiplexed 107-Gb/s RZ-DQPSK and 42.7-Gb/s RZ-DQPSK channels were transmitted over 16x 80-km SSMF spans and 4 bandwidth-managed ROADMs.
