Calculation of three-dimensional phononic band structures using the combined method of FDTD and filter diagonalization

The combined method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) and filter diagonalization is proposed to calculate the band structures of three-dimensional (3D) phononic crystals (PNCs). Numerical simulations for a 3D solid PNC system show that, with this combined method, relatively accurate calculation results of the band structures can be obtained when relatively few FDTD iterations are run.
