Performance evaluation of a binary communication system with blind equalizer

This paper presents a simulation model for a spread spectrum communication system. This model was implemented with a ADSP 21020 microcomputer from Analog Devices. The model evaluates the performance of the communication system for channels with various distortions and interference. An adaptive blind equalizer is used in order to remove the intersymbol interference due the channel distortion. The experimental results show that the system may be used for binary communications without errors, even for a channel with distortion and sinusoidal interference. The simulation model represents a useful tool for one to evaluate by simulation the performance of a communication system.
