Novel compact metamaterial-based cavity resonator with broad bandwidth

This work reveals the physics behind a metamaterial-based cavity resonator by simulation. Results confirm that a cavity resonator, composed of AMC surfaces and metallic plates, provides a compact size and a wide bandwidth. These characteristics may lead to very interesting applications in microwave circuits, such as resonators and filters.
