The accuracy comparison of height from DTM constructed using STOP and GO with RTK GPS for GIS application

Nowadays development of technology Global Positioning System (GPS) is advancing very quickly and useful to any field that require spatial data. GPS is saving time, give a better accuracy can operate for 24 hours in any weather condition, saving time and others. Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and Stop and Go are popular techniques in GPS to get position of any feature on the earth surface. DTM (Digital Terrain Model) in this study have function such as providing a highly detailed representation of the topographical variations in the Earth's surface. The objective of this research is to compare accuracy between of DTM generated by Stop and Go GPS and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) technique in capture detail relative to static technique. The detail collects including ground cover of three difference surfaces such as slope area, flat area and mix area. The accuracy comparison focuses on height (z) value on the generated DTM. There are five control points (CP) which have been used as known coordinates during Stop and Go as well as RTK GPS session and nine independent control points (ICP) established at the study area with static technique. The analyses of the comparison accuracy will be evaluated in Geographic Information System (GIS) software. The accuracy evaluated by pointing to the selected points on the DTM in ArcGIS Software. Static mode observation GPS points were used as references to compare the accuracy of both techniques. For the purposed of generating the DTM; 267 points of Stop and Go and RTK GPS respectively were interpolated using TIN interpolation to get the z value for the whole study area so that the accuracy the DTM can be evaluated.
