Springback analysis of free bending based on uniform design

Free bending with no bottoming is commonly applied in various industrial productions because of its versatile forming characteristics. And full application in the large-diameter longitudinal welded pipes production shows the superiority of this forming method. This paper adopts a scientific experimental design method to carry out physical modeling and simulation study on the wide-plate air bending. Good coincidence between the experiment and simulation result illustrates the preciseness of finite element analysis. The results after the regression analysis on simulated data were obtained and regression equation used to predict the target bending angle is presented.
