Reconfigurable printed antenna for a wideband tuning

A reconfigurable printed antenna is proposed that combines a tunable monopole and an adjustable loop antenna. The loop section controls a tuning operation for an upper frequency band while the monopole part contributes to a tuning for a lower frequency band of the antenna. It has been analyzed through simulations and measurements that the proposed antenna can operate for a tuning range as wide as 700 MHz to 6 GHz.
