Low-noise high-speed general purpose SQUID system

Summary form only given, as follows.We have developed a SQUID system with superior performance to most of the systems currently available. It combines a very low noise level of 3/spl times/10/sup -6/ /spl Phi//sub 0///spl radic/(Hz) with a high bandwidth of 10 MHz and a maximum slew rate of 5/spl times/10/sup 7/ /spl Phi//sub 0//s at 10 kHz, where /spl Phi//sub 0/ is the flux quantum. Due to its excellent performance the system can be used for various applications, for example, to build high-frequency geophysical measurement systems, test circuits for fast superconducting logic circuits, wideband picovoltmeters, and low-noise amplifiers for magnetic resonance experiments.
