The emerging architecture of future networks

This paper discusses the influences of technologies, industry structure and user demand on the directions of future network architectures. A set of principles guiding the development of network architectures for future dynamic telecommunication business are presented. A functional network architecture framework is proposed. An example of this network architecture and its key attributes are also described.
