3D Modeling of a Bipolar Smart Optical Sensor Fabricated in CMOS Technology

The CMOS technology developed at IRST [G. Soncini, et a. 1993] has recently been applied to the development of optical sensors. Examples of applications to elementary devices have been given earlier, using the two-dimensional version of the device-simulator HFIELDS to carry out the numerical analysis. A more realistic example of application of such a technology is shown here, namely a pnp bipolar phototransistor.
