Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices — A study across the Malaysian industries

The aim of this paper is to study the state of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices across the Malaysian industries. A theoretical framework is developed to determine the predominant TPM pillars that influence the OEE. Based on this theoretical framework, a survey-based research on a sample size of 70 Malaysian industries is applied to this study. The outcome of this survey is analyzed using SPSS. The analysis show that the predominant TPM pillars indeed has a considerable impact on the OEE.
