Experimental orthogonal functions and principal oscillation patterns of an unstable event in a BWR nuclear power reactor

In this work, we show that the singular system analysis allows to define Experimental Orthogonal Functions, which are spatial functions of the reactor core that allow to classify the BWR instabilities. Global linear stability parameters for the core are defined using the Principal Patterns of Oscillation method.
