A 65 nm CMOS Inductorless Triple Band Group WiMedia UWB PHY

A fully integrated WiMedia v1.2 UWB PHY (radio plus digital baseband) covering all TFC codes has been realized in a baseline 65 nm CMOS process. The PHY features also detect and avoidance (DAA) capability. The inductorless design uses a single RF signal path to cover band groups 1, 3 and 6. ring-based oscillators. The EVM for 480 MBps is below -24 dB and the sensitivity is below -81 dBm for 53 Mb/s. The IIP3 for maximum gain setting is better than -4 dBm.
