Expressions of the phase and gain margins as roots of polynomials and its applications

This paper presents a method to express the phase and gain margins of a given SISO system as roots of polynomials. The expression is useful especially when the given system contains unknown parameters where numerical methods cannot be applied. We present a numerical example to illustrate the method and its applications.
