Optimal control of linear singularly perturbed systems

This paper deals with the comparison between some different methods for determining optimal control strategies of linear singularly perturbed systems. The considered methods are: the fixed point, the Newton type and the Taylor expansion methods. It is well known that Newton type algorithm is a second order approach. However the others are only first order ones. Finally, this work is illustrated by the example of a doubly fed machine coupled to infinite bus.
