Wireless Communications System Architecture and Performance

Low power consumption is an important consideration in the design of commercial and military communications systems. In this chapter the authors focus on some of the higher level system architecture issues for low power design of a wireless communications system. To begin they discuss some of the goals in a wireless communications system along with some of the challenges posed by a wireless medium used for communications.
