Relationship between effective area and mode field diameter for photonic crystal fibers

We first demonstrated experimentally correction factor k

) between Aeff and MFD (=2w) for photonic crystal fibers (PCFs). The k

of PCFs is found to be greater than 1.0 for Gaussian distribution.
