Guest Editorial Special Section on Real-Time and (Networked) Embedded Systems

The 11 papers in this special section focus on real-time and (networked) embedded systems. The section is divided into three groups. The first group contains papers dealing with scheduling, optimization, and analysis of embedded real-time systems. The second deals with the integration of components into distributed systems, analyzing aspects related to composition, and quality-of-service. The last group of papers investigates the problems related to real-time networks, in both wired and wireless environments.
