Simulation as part of Rehabilitation

Skills assessment can provide valuable information regarding technical ability in the professional rehabilitation process. Together with other objective functional assessments it can provide an additional indication of ones' capabilities, thus providing a potentially effective revalidation tool for healthcare professionals. This paper discusses a collaboration project with the Israel Center for Medical Simulation. The project aims to provide a safe environment through simulation, for training and evaluation of a surgeon's technical skills and to assess his ability to return to work.
