Finite Element Analysis for the Mechanical Behaviors of Circle-Ended Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Tower

A finite element analysis model was established for the circle-ended concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST) tower of a cable-stayed bridge with ldquosharing-noderdquo method of ANSYS, the circle-ended CFST towerpsilas mechanics behaviors in different load cases in the process of the bridgepsilas construction were stimulated by considering variation of the core concretepsilas Poisson Ratio in the constitutive relation. The changing rules of stress in the circle-ended CFST tower which was under axial compression and eccentric compression respectively were summarized, and the most disadvantaged stress state under the tri-axial compression was found out. The modeling method in this paper can simulate the mechanical behaviors of circle-ended CFST tower accurately. The conclusions are significant for the application of the circle-ended CFST tower in projects.
