Science and society - analysis - [briefing in depth]

This paper reports on a new centre that puts social scientists at the heart of the process. Research work has started at Imperial College London's Centre for Synthetic Biology and Innovation, the UK's first publicly-funded dedicated centre for work on developing and integrating biological components. CSynBI will move into its own laboratories once construction work has been completed on top of the aeronautical engineering building on the campus.
