Constructing an Open-Sharing Chinese Scientific and Technical Vocabulary Service

Chinese Scientific & Technical Vocabulary Service System is based on the traditional thesaurus resources by integrating some related tool suits and constructing more semantic relationship to provide S&T vocabulary knowledge service. In this project, a number of issues are being considered which include various methods to organize different vocabularies from dictionary, terminology and thesaurus, concepts, tools and policies to discover, manage and maintain the new concepts in a variety of domains, M2M interface to access the terminologies in the database, and mapping tools to improve the interoperability between different Chinese controlled vocabularies. This report is organized as follows: Section 1 introduces the background of this project. Section 2 describes the ways to organize different concepts in different disciplines. Section 3 presents the technical architecture of this terminology service. Section 4 describes the current situation of this project. Section 5 indicates the further development of this project.
