Effect of gain coupling on the intermodulation distortion in DFB laser

The effect of increasing gain coupling on the intermodulation distortion is investigated. It is shown that only in the absence of other sources of distortion, gain coupling improves intermodulation distortion. Otherwise, it may reduce or increase distortion depending on the operating frequency.
