Sampling-Based Soft Equalization for Coherent Optical Channels

In this paper, we propose low-complexity, high-performance soft-equalization techniques for mitigating polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and chromatic dispersion (CD) in fiber optic communication systems employing multilevel modulation and coherent detection.
