Electrically Driven Auxiliaries for Steam Power Stations

There is a definite trend toward the use of all electrically driven auxiliaries for steam power stations. This paper reviews the reasons for this trend, summarizes the advantages of electric drive and discusses in a general way some of the economic factors in the selection of an auxiliary system.
