Optical label switching performance with an autonomous operating 40Gbps optical digital-to-analog converter-type label processor

Optical packet switching performance with 40 Gbps, 2-bit optical digital-to-analog converter type label processor is demonstrated. Autonomous label processing and packet switching using a phase-shifted preamble-based gate pulse generation scheme was achieved for the first time.
