Review of resonant techniques in power electronic systems

Resonant switching techniques are becoming established in DC/DC power converter and power supply equipment, bringing the benefits of cleaner switching waveforms, lower losses and also smaller reactive components through the use of increased operating frequencies. Commercial units are now available at the 100 W power level. In spite of considerable research, resonant techniques have yet to be incorporated into commercial PWM inverter systems.
